I figured these bibs would be pretty basic but I was surprised by the Ultimate chamois pad. It was much thicker than I expected. I gave it a test right away on a 1 hour indoor trainer ride. These always get to me as I don't have an opportunity to move around or stand much, if at all, so it's way worse than an actual road/gravel ride. I'm happy to say I was comfortable for the whole ride.
I like pocket bibs for gravel rides as there's no guarantee the road will be smooth enough to let me reach into my jersey pocket while navigating aroound a hydration pack. Leg pockets in general have been great for unsupported 60-100+ mile rides when I need to carry extra food, and they're also handy to stash empty wrappers so they don't fall out and litter. I've found these secure enough for my phone, yet providing easy access even with full-finger gloves.
