So sizing is on the small side. I’m a big guy and ordered 2xl thinking they’d be fine for me but they actually run on the tight side, but they feel like they’ll loosen up and tight bibs are better for avoiding chafing. I was also somewhat disappointed they didn’t come with stirrups, but again, it’s a trade off I can live with. All in all, they do a great job of insulting and are comfortable to ride in.
Great Bibs. As a solo layer on middling days and as a base layer during very crisp mornings. They are very tight in the beginning, but after a few cycles they've started to break in.
BTW - I ordered the wrong style (knickers vs full tights) and the customer service to exchange was fast, easy, and customer centered. Very well done.

I am 5'9" and 160 lb and wear a Medium in Black Bibs Ultimate bib shorts. Based on my positive experience with the bib shorts, I purchased Medium thermal bibs for fall/winter riding. They are great, with two caveats. First, as the website cautions, they fit tighter and are less stretchy than the same size bib shorts so if you barely squeeze into the bib shorts, then size up (I found the mediums to be tight but comfortable). Second, the shoulder straps do not give much and while they were the right length for me, taller riders might find them too short.
Comfortable, warm, and affordable!
Even if you've been naughty, these are nice. Just ask Santa to deliver some to your door. You won't be sorry. The thermal fleece is warm and you'll be sporting these in the cold of February as you go dashing through the snow. Super comfy chamois. Nice job, Black Bibs!
