2d Pair after a couple months test in this PNW Winter

I had one pair of these and one pair of Rapha Cargo Winter Tights starting this season. I just got a second pair of the Black Bib Winter Thermal Tights after evaluating both of the previous for a couple months. For both comfort (pad and bib material), I have zero preference of one over another. I DO prefer the Black Bib's cargo pockets (leg and middle back) over the Rapha (the right leg mesh has mysteriously ripped a hole and the left leg is too small for a phone). Hence when I got tired of doing musical chairs laundry and needed a third pair? Another Black Bibs it is. Just well done Starlight.

I did size up from my regular Black Bibs (Large) to an XL in these per the shop recommendation. Perfect. And for any Rapha wearers wanting a size comparison, I wear a large in both Pro Team/Brevet/Winter Cargo Bibs there. Also a large for any Assos summer/regular bib users.

Excellent

These are a fantastic value and perform as well as others bibs at two or three times the cost. This includes the feel of the chamois after 5hrs on the bike. The pockets on the legs are a huge plus. When it is cold, i.e. when wearing these, the leg pocket access is really handy while on the bike with gloves. I would definitely recommend these for cold rides.

All in all, quality thermal bibs

So sizing is on the small side. I’m a big guy and ordered 2xl thinking they’d be fine for me but they actually run on the tight side, but they feel like they’ll loosen up and tight bibs are better for avoiding chafing. I was also somewhat disappointed they didn’t come with stirrups, but again, it’s a trade off I can live with. All in all, they do a great job of insulting and are comfortable to ride in.

Great Bibs

Great Bibs. As a solo layer on middling days and as a base layer during very crisp mornings. They are very tight in the beginning, but after a few cycles they've started to break in.
BTW - I ordered the wrong style (knickers vs full tights) and the customer service to exchange was fast, easy, and customer centered. Very well done.

Great thermal bibs!

I am 5'9" and 160 lb and wear a Medium in Black Bibs Ultimate bib shorts. Based on my positive experience with the bib shorts, I purchased Medium thermal bibs for fall/winter riding. They are great, with two caveats. First, as the website cautions, they fit tighter and are less stretchy than the same size bib shorts so if you barely squeeze into the bib shorts, then size up (I found the mediums to be tight but comfortable). Second, the shoulder straps do not give much and while they were the right length for me, taller riders might find them too short.
