Not fully wind-proof, but for $50 (or less, on sale), this is great. Wore it recently on a 42-degree partly sunny day, over just a long sleeve jersey, no base layer (I generally run pretty warm) and didn't have any issue with windchill on my torso. I love the double zipper, lets me zip it up from the bottom to dump heat during a climb and then quickly re-zip for the descent, rather than single zips that flap around if you fully unzip and then you have to wrestle with putting it back together. Maybe that's just a problem for me b/c I suck at riding with no hands. Compared to any other vest at this price, it's hands-down the best. Compared to other vests in the $70-$100 range, this is as good if not better.
I had the original vest and it is a perfect layer with a long sleeve jersey for shoulder season mountain biking. I never overheat or find myself chilled by the wind, and having some extra pockets is great. I got the new version for the two-way zipper, which further enhances the temperature control. I also wanted a bright orange color for visibility on road rides. I wear this thing all the time!
I’m usually a large in t-shirts and jerseys, sometime a medium (6ft 170 lbs). The large fits perfectly trim. It’s a little short, more of a roadie cut, but it doesn’t mother me.
Had to order a size up from chart. I am a XL by chart, but was too tight around gut. Has a pencil fit. 2XL was right on though. Love it. Like color options.
Great vest, fits true to size. Bought as a run/cycling top layer and it does the job well!
Perfect for 50 degree weather
