I'm 5'4" and not skinny, but not fat either, just a little on the more solid side. I've been wearing the standard large bibs, but the leg openings were just a little floppy, and reaching just above my knees. The short inseam ultimates fit perfectly! They grip my legs right where they're supposed to. The ultimate padding makes a difference too. So far I've been wearing them this winter with unpadded pull-over tights, but looking forward to the warmer weather, wearing these for my longer rides.

Third pair of these I've had. I prefer these to the longer inseam models. Noticed that earlier version of this bib that the light green chamois started separating rather quickly. Not so much is this the case with the red colored chamois later iterations. Keep the great products coming Black Bibs!

Very pleasantly surprised. Im 5’7”, 200#.short n heavy. The XL short length fits well and the chamoix is as good and probably better than any i have used, including Giordanda, Castelli, Pearl izumi, gore. I will buy again.

Approaching the end of my first real season on a bike and getting more serious about longer distance gravel rides I have been searching for the right shorts for the job. It seems ridiculous to me that people should have to pay $200+ for the name brand chamois’s in order to be comfortable on a bike. I am so glad to have found the black bibs ultimate! The first three consecutive days after I received these I rode 70, 80, and 90 miles and felt great. Good compression without restriction, padding in all the right places and none of the wrong ones, and appropriate stretch for “nature breaks” as they say. I just ordered a pair of the regular black bibs to try too, hopefully they are as good for shorter rides as these are for the long ones!
P.S. the shipping was incredibly fast and efficient with accurate tracking too!

It's early, but these seem like high quality clothes. When you find the right fit, you'll be happy. The cost is reasonable, service is great, and it feels like Black Bibs is bringing back something we've lost of late in the cycling community.
